As announced on October 13, the Berlin Mathematical School will be funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG) as a Graduate School in the framework of the "Excellence Initiative" of the German government. Thus, for the next five years there will be funding of more than one Million Euros per year, which will provide scholarships for BMS students in both Phase I and Phase II, fund a BMS one-stop office to support the students and the operation of the BMS, finance the creation of BMS locations at the three mathematics departments as well as at the Berlin Urania, where the BMS Fridays will take place, and fund an extensive visitor, guest and travel program for the BMS.
