Within the framework of the lecture series "Berliner Kolloquium für wissen- schaftliche Visualisierung" Prof. PhD Eugene Zhang (Oregon State University/ Berlin Mathematical School ) will talk about "Topological Analysis and Visualization of 2D Asymmetric Tensor Fields" on 7 November 2011 at 17:15.
Asymmetric tensor fields contain much richer structures than their symmetric counterparts. In this talk Zhang will review latest development in asymmetric tensor field analysis and visualization, with an emphasis on tensor field topology. Applications of such analysis and visualization include fluid dynamics and earthquake engineering.
The talk will take place at the Zuse-Institut Berlin, Takustraße 7,
14195 Berlin, Hörsaal (Rundbau, Erdgeschoß).
