The BMS is proud to host a (PhD) student conference on Tropical Geometry on

December 11 and 12, 2009!

Tropical Geometry is a young subject that in recent years has both established itself  as an area of its own right and unveiled its deep connections to numerous branches of pure and applied mathematics.

There are various different approaches to Tropical Geometry, for example from Algebraic Geometry, Combinatorics or Discrete Mathematics.

The aim of the conference is to introduce different aspects of Tropical Geometry in a series of talks by students and PhD students. It is intended for graduate, PhD and postdoctoral students in mathematics both already familiar with Tropical Geometry or new to the subject.
